Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival Fall Series
Join us for the virtual 2020 Fall Series and enjoy five adventure packed shows from November 20 – 29.
We’re featuring new films and exciting adventures about Climbing, Snowsports, the Environment, and Mountain Culture. There will be World Premiere films, bonus content from directors and adventurers, and we’re thrilled to partner with Colour the Trails to offer a unique panel discussion about Moving Beyond Diversity. Be inspired, entertained and connect virtually with your outdoor community. Tickets $15, Series Pass $50.
Climbing Show – Presented by Arc’teryx, the program showcases five unique films that feature young and seasoned climbers, in the nearby and faraway islands of Baffin and Makatea; while sharing stories of friendship, adversity and adventure. Includes the world festival premiere of Valhalla Rock Sky, a documentary about a remote and wild place.
Snowsports Show – This fundraiser for Protect Our Winters includes the world premieres of Frozen In Time; Motherload, and Without a Paddle; and the festival premiere of Katie Burrell’s new film Coach.
Environmental Show – In partnership with the David Suzuki Foundation, including the world premieres of Forever is Now and Poisoned Earth. These documentaries travel to Norway, Russia, Zion National Park and Alberta. In today’s world of constant change, these films showcase the incredible stories that take place in remote places and bring to light controversial struggles.
Mountain Culture Show – Hosts the world premieres of My Horse My Destiny and Last Tracks, and tells the incredible stories of the Celestial Mountains of Kyrgyzstan, the Indigenous people in the Peruvian Andes, and connects us to the Himalayas. It includes a special virtual presentation by Michael Schauch, a story about karma bringing together two different places.
Colour the Trails – Presented by Liv Cycling, and in partnership with Colour the Trails. Five incredible films about diversity in the outdoors, and a live panel discussion on November 25 with Colour the Trails founder Judith Kasiama. The group will dive deep and share their stories about how we can bring diversity into action on both a personal and professional level.
