Missing a piano or two? Richmond RCMP might have it

Are you missing a piano? A few pianos?

Richmond RCMP might have good news for you.

Early this month, the detachment came across a warehouse on the city’s south side filled with more than a dozen pianos that police believe may have been taken from their legitimate owners.

According to a police media release, the pianos range in size and style, and include uprights and concert grands.

Another piano Richmond RCMP is looking to reunite with its owner.

“Pianos are much more than instruments that can convey music. They may have a deep family history dating back multiple generations,” said Cpl. Dennis Hwang in a statement.

“The precious memories and sentimental value each piano holds may far outweigh any monetary value.”

Police believe the owners of the pianos may not all be limited to Richmond.

Anyone who has had a piano disappear is asked to contact Richmond RCMP Const. Susie Wang at 604-278-1212, or by email at Richmond_Tips@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
