Moments later, police say there was a crash on 100 Avenue, between 156 and 160 streets, involving three vehicles. One of the vehicles crashed onto a residential property.

“They were travelling very fast, long skid marks, and I heard the shots right before the skid marks,” witness Dennis Watson said.

Two men were sent to hospital with serious injuries: one suffered gunshot wounds and the other is believed to have been injured in the crash.

Police said they believe the shooting is targeted, and involved people who knew each other and were involved in Lower Maindland gang activity.

RCMP said five men, ranging in age from 18 to 26 years old, were in custody, however no charges have yet been laid.
