British heavy metallers Def Leppard have grabbed their earliest recordings for a new box set, The Early Years ’79-81. You’re getting the first two records, On Through the Night and High ‘n’ Dry, reworked and remastered. And with any box set, you need the extras which will include live recordings, demos and BBC sessions. The package will include 5 CDs and is out on March 20th.
In a statement, frontman Joe Elliot said, “Really excited to have our early years reworked with a load of rare material, including the newly unearthed Live at the Oxford New Theatre, recorded on the 1980 U.K. tour. It’s been a trip putting this box set together and I hope you all enjoy listening to it as much as we did working on it!”
Def Leppard came out of Sheffield, England in the late 70s as part of the new wave of British heavy metal.
