Search for missing 14-year-old from Port Coquitlam comes to a tragic end

A tragic update today in the search for a missing 14-year-old from Port Coquitlam.

The search for a missing teen has come to a tragic end.

Noelle ‘Elli’ O’Soup left her Port Coquitlam home without permission on May 12, 2021.

The 14-year-old has now been found dead in Vancouver, Coquitlam RCMP confirmed.

Vancouver police told Global News Wednesday that O’Soup’s body was found on May 1, 2022, inside an apartment building at 405 Heatley Avenue.

O’Soup was missing for almost a year before her body was discovered.

Police said two bodies were found in the apartment that day. A man was also found dead in the same building on Feb. 23. The other two people have not been identified and it is not known if there is any connection between the three people.

Police said they informed O’Soup’s family of the news on Wednesday morning.

Circumstances surrounding O’Soup’s death have not been released at this time and it is not known if her death is suspicious.

“The BC Coroners Service is investigating the cause of Noelle’s death, and the Vancouver Police Major Crime Section is investigating the circumstances surrounding her death,” Vancouver police said in a statement.

“Noelle’s death will generate many questions in the community, and we are committed to finding answers.  If during the course of this investigation, we determine there is a risk to public safety, we will immediately notify the public.”

In January, RCMP released photos of a woman in order to determine if she had any connection to O’Soup.

The unidentified person had short black hair at the time the photos were released and was last seen in the area of Gateway Station in Surrey wearing a BC Ferries jacket and Bee-Clean reflective vest, dark pants and black shoes.

Further information about this woman has not been provided at this time.
Anyone with information about Noelle’s death is asked to contact the Vancouver Police Department’s Major Crime Section at 604-717-2500.
