Join us to celebrate our 25th Anniversary with an action filled program that features both in-person and online shows. We’ve lined up award winning filmmakers and guest speakers, informative workshops and panel discussions, and more than 50 films about climbing, snowsports, adventure, mountain culture, the environment and more!

There will be many World, North American and Canadian premieres, showcasing powerful stories that will inspire your next adventure.

In person shows at: Rio Theatre and Brewhall (Vancouver), Kay Meek (West Vancouver), Centennial Theatre and Presentation House (North Vancouver).  Here’s a selection of Online and In Person shows:

– After Antarctica – Follow Will Steger’s lifetime journey to learn about the greatest changes in the polar regions.
– Best of VIMFF – A collection of critically acclaimed films from the VIMFF program – including award winners and jury favourites. Program announced week of February 7, 2022.
– Buried – Watch this miracle survival story about a deadly avalanche that strikes in the 1980’s on a ski patrols’ watch, and learn about the aftermath that haunts them to this day.
– Tigre Gente – A Bolivian park ranger and a young Hong Kongese journalist go undercover to investigate a jaguar trade.
– The Magnitude of All Things – This documentary draws intimate parallels between the experiences of grief—both personal and planetary.
– Alpine Show – For those who crave stories of ice, snow and exposure. Journey to the highest peaks through these five films, which include the North American Premieres of I Am North and Journey to Jagdula.
– Beautiful BC Show presented by BCMC – Celebrate the beauty of British Columbia and all it has to offer with this diverse program of films which include both World and Canadian Premieres. This show is presented by the BCMC.
– Best of Adventure show – This curated program includes four films that feature diverse personal adventures and journeys in the Polar region, Southern New Zealand and Canada’s Northwest Territories. This show includes the World Premieres of Njord and Gila Wild.
– Canadian Environmental Show presented by Ecologyst – A thought provoking and action inspiring collection of films that highlight pressing environmental issues affecting Canada in 2022, including three World Premiere films.
– Best of Mountain Culture – Four films highlighting the diverse lives and characters that make up our mountain communities; from the Himalayas and Europe, to the Canadian Rockies.
– Best of Mountain Sports – An action packed program of eight engaging films from around the world that feature free solo climbing, biking, skiing and base jumping!
– Canadian Made – A focus on Canadian filmmakers and adventure films that were shot in our backyard and the mountain ranges of Nepal and South America. These four films tell stories of healing, discovery and pushing our limits.
– Climbing Show – Four great rock climbing films including the World Premiere of Frontlines. See how three Canadian women use climbing to help them balance the stresses of nursing during a pandemic. This show is presented by ARC’TERYX.
– Colour The Trails presented by Liv Cycling – A celebration of diversity in our outdoor community, with five films featuring BIPOC adventurers and filmmakers. This show includes the World Premiere of Black Foxes and the North American Premiere of After the Storm.  Screen reader support enabled.
– Mind vs Mountain – This powerful show explores the mental health benefits gained from exploring and pushing oneself in the mountains. Featuring a special presentation from Mike Schauch and some great climbing films.
– Snowsports Show presented by Arc’teryx – The best snowsports films of the year for all the powder lovers out there! From big alpine faces, to sufferfest ski traverses and farming turns at the hill, this show has something for everyone.
– Trail Show – Enjoy four films about trail running, thru-hiking and fat biking on some of the world’s most demanding trails, and be inspired by these great feats of endurance.
